Sunday Church School

The Sunday Church School program of the congregation meets at 10:15 AM on Sunday mornings from September through April and uses the "Workshop Rotation Model."

Classrooms are designed into creative, media-inspired workshops that teach Bible stories. These workshops can include art, drama, audiovisuals, games, and music. Classes or groups rotate to new workshops each week over a five week "rotation" period. Workshop teachers stay in the same location, repeating the workshop to a new group of children each week with some modifications appropriate for age differences.

During the five-week period only one Bible story is taught. The entire rotation - every workshop, every week - is focused on learning that one Bible story.

The Sunday Church School year also includes:

  • Distribution of Bibles to Third Graders
  • First Communion preparation for fifth graders
  • Music and worship each Sunday
  • The Christmas Program
  • Service projects including:
    - "Love Tree" - Gifts of hats and mittens for distribution through the local Community Center
    - "Heifer Project" - Raise funds to provide animals to families in developing countries through Heifer International
